World Liberty Financial to Launch Public Token Sale Next Week with Trump Family Support

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a new decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol backed by former President Donald Trump and his family, is set to begin its public token sale next Tuesday, just three weeks before the U.S. presidential election, in which Trump is the Republican nominee.

The WLFI token sale will be open to participants who qualify through the project's whitelist. A statement on the protocol's social media account confirmed, “Public sale starts October 15, available to everyone who meets the whitelist criteria.”

In related developments, blockchain-based prediction platform Polymarket currently places Donald Trump as the frontrunner in the upcoming election, scheduled for November 5.

The World Liberty Financial project is led by Zachary Folkman and Chase Herro, who were previously involved with Dough Finance, a DeFi platform that suffered a $2 million exploit in July. Despite this setback, the team is moving forward with WLFI, which has gained high-profile endorsements from the Trump family.

Donald Trump has been named "Chief Crypto Advocate" for the project, with his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. serving as "Web3 Ambassadors." Barron Trump is also involved, holding the title of "DeFi Visionary."

According to its roadmap, the project aims to raise $300 million from the token sale, giving it a valuation of $1.5 billion. The WLFI token will function as a governance token, enabling holders to vote on decisions related to the protocol’s future development.

The project plans to launch on Aave's v3 platform on the Ethereum mainnet, focusing on providing liquidity for assets such as ether (ETH), wrapped bitcoin (wBTC), stablecoins, and potentially other digital assets, according to a post from Aave’s governance forum earlier this week.
